At Tax Seazon, we will guide you step-by-step to prepare your simple or complex personal income tax returns accurately, efficiently and cost-effectively.
Tax Specialization:
After filing a tax return, if you find any other income slips or deduction receipts that must be included in your tax return, simply contact us and we will gladly file a T1-Adjustment (T1-ADJ). We provide services in:
a. Tax Adjustments
b. Tax Appeals
c. Audit Representation & Review
It is imperative to report all kinds of income in the same tax years as soon as possible to avoid any type of fines and penalties. Please note that the CRA does not allow carry over of income slips from one year to the next as there are set deadlines that we must adhere to in terms of the income slips and deduction receipts. We ensure to continue providing support to all our clients throughout the annual year!
As per the new regulations by the federal government, if you sold your principle residence after January 1st, 2016, it is necessary to report the sale of your house.
If the sale is not reported as a sale of principle residence, in that case you may be liable to pay capital gains tax on the profit you've made on the sale.
We will guide you with reporting the sale of your principle residence and other properties that you own, even though they may not be your principle residence for the number of years you've owned the property.
We prepare tax returns for the overseas clients. If you are a U.S. citizen who is a resident in Canada, in that case you must file two tax returns each year, declaring your worldwide income on:
i. Canadian return as a residence of Canada
ii. US return because you're a U.S. citizen
If you've answered yes to any or all of the questions below, we will guide you with the Canadian overseas tax preparation protocols:
a. Are you an American citizen residing in Canada?
b. Are you a Canadian citizen who has income from the United States?
c. Are there any investments that you own in the United States?
d. Is there any other additional income that you've earned in the United States that must be reported in the tax return?
If you've answered yes to any of the above questions, you are required by the tax treaty between Canada and the U.S. and the Income Tax Act to file the tax returns. There are credits and deductions that will save you from double taxation and maximising your tax benefits.
